If you value your pets and their safety, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES visit Northside Animal Clinic. The main (and to my knowledge, only as of today) vet there, David W. Saylor (stocky white male with glasses and white hair, approximately 70 years old), is a HORRIBLE excuse for a veterinarian. He’s VERY rough with the treatment of animals, and has a TERRIBLE bedside manner. This man attempted to bully me into putting my 15 year old dog in poor health under anesthesia despite my concerns, completely ignoring the risks associated with the procedure. He showed no sensitivity toward me or the condition of my dog whatsoever. He had an extremely condescending and overbearing attitude; at times he was downright belligerent. He would snap at me for asking simple questions (he was literally yelling at me at one point). I’ve never met anyone in medicine even remotely as rude and obnoxious as he was.

This man has an EXTREMELY negative reputation throughout the veterinary community in Lakeland. If you don’t believe me, just ask around at other vets. Incidentally, multiple people have subsequently contacted me disclosing similar experiences at this vet, seemingly confirming his reputation. DO NOT VISIT THIS VET UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. He is a danger to animals, and should not be practicing medicine. He is completely and totally incompetent. Right now he’s got a billboard up saying he’s accepting new customers: DON’T FALL FOR IT. There’s a reason the parking lot of this clinic is usually barren.
