*WARNING* Gratuitous photos ahead! Alright Seattleites, it's that crucial time of year for turning your Casper glow into a beautiful bronze. Everyone needs some Vitamin D from time to time, and the best way to get it is by soaking in some rays. We may only have a few weeks of this beautiful weather, but I've listed some of the best places to tan yourself the natural way.

Alki Beach

1702 Alki Ave Sw, Seattle, WA 98116

Alki Beach – known as Seattle’s ONE true beach (though diehards can hardly call it that). Located in West Seattle, it is the longest stretch of sand available for some excellent sun and fun.

Unless you’re wanting to tan with the tots, don’t bother coming on the weekend when everyone AND their mothers stop by. If you stay long enough into the afternoon and evening, grab happy hour at Cactus before crashing a bonfire on the beach.

For the ladies...

Discovery Park

Washington Ave, Seattle, WA 98199

Not many people realize the sunning potential of Discovery Park. Stroll down to the beach (you might need a map just to figure out how to get down there) and you’ll find yourself fairly secluded, yet more than able to soak in the rays.

Key point of interest here: if you’re looking for seclusion, this would be a good spot to go.

Washington Park Arboretum

2300 Arboretum Dr E, Seattle, WA 98112

Not everyone thinks of the Arboretum when looking to sun, but you’d be surprised. Hike out to the north end of the Arboretum (it isn’t really a hike) and you’ll find wide open spaces ideal for laying out and relaxing. Surprisingly enough, the area is secluded enough that many people go sans swimsuit in order to minimize their tanlines.

Warning, the Arboretum can border on the cruisy side for the gay boys, so don’t be surprised if you start seeing guys wander into the woods…

Get Your Tan On!

Madison Beach

E Madison St. and E Howe St.

My personal favorite when it comes to fun in the sun. Located at the end of Madison (a quick shot from Downtown), Madison Beach is combination beach and hotspot. Gay, straight, bisexual or trisexual, anyone and everyone is welcome here.

Regardless of the day, try getting here early in order to get the best spot. If you’ve forgotten to bring snacks to enjoy you’ve got a number of great places to grab a bite within the neighborhood.

Always wear sunscreen!

Bikini Beach

92 Kirkland Ave, Kirkland, WA 98033

Hardly considered part of Seattle, but still a good beach. Nestled north of Kirkland, Bikini Beach is an ideal place to tan for those of you outside of the city limits not willing to travel. Again, this beach is very family friendly come weekends and holidays, so try to avoid it at those times.

Cal Anderson Park

1635 11th Ave Seattle WA

Can’t make your way to a beach? Have no fear, Cal Anderson is there to save the day. Smack dab in the middle of Capital Hill, Cal Anderson has an open grassy area perfect for not only sunning, but scoping out the other bathing beauties as well.

Men, sun enough and this COULD be you

Golden Gardens Park

8498 Seaview Pl Nw, Seattle, WA 98117

Just west of Ballard, Golden Gardens is another ideal location for getting your tan on. The Gardens are large enough that you nearly never have to worry about getting a place on the beach. Be forewarned, since Golden Gardens is on Elliott Bay, the water will be most definitely frigid.

This guide makes me want to slather baby oil all over myself. Weird? No. Awesome.
