And you thought Alaskans had no fashion sense... Alright, so Sarah Palin splurged and treated herself to $150,000 worth of 'campaign accessories'--including fancy new clothes (hello, Valentino!), hair treatments and beauty products. The Republican Vice Presidential candidate certainly looks a heck of a lot more modern and stylish (as she should with all of that media attention on her daily), but her shopping spree has ruffled a few frugal-minded feathers along the way as the presidential race heats up. Over to the left, Michelle Obama has kept a low profile with her chic set of elegantly-tailored designer frocks and offbeat baubles, that have undoubtedly earned her a few nods of approval from fashion and non-fashion folk alike. Experimental Replicant

It’s a little more stoic and professional than the little outfits that Palin’s been rocking as of late. She’s no Jackie O’ she’s been looking more like she’s attending a parent teacher conference.

This is what I would put her in. It sharpens up her professionalism yet reflects her misguided beliefs as an assistant who is aware of less than she realizes.

Agreed. Michelle could have done a bit better when all eyes were on the future first lady. And, although Palin does have some cute outfits, she shouldn’t have made such a huge deal about foregoing all of the extra luxuries politicians are used to if she was going to drop that much on clothing.

I like Michelle’s choice of clothing over Sarah Palin’s, but I was not a fan of Michelle’s dress on Tuesday when Obama was announced as the president.
