It's hot! Time to seek out all the great ice cream shops and snoball stands New Orleans has to offer! Here is a list of a few great ones I like to frequent.
Snoballs
They are not like the snow cones you find up North. The ice in snoballs is shaved much finer, making them softer to eat—and they come in any flavor you can dream up, like wedding cake, spearmint, coconut and nectar. You can get them plain or drenched in cream or homemade condensed milk. If you’ve never had one, you’re missing out. You can stumble across snoball stands in pretty much any neighborhood you wander through in this city. Here are a couple I like in my part of town.
There are several great places in New Orleans to try a variety of freshly made ice creams and gelatos, but the first place you should check out is definately Angelo Brocato’s on North Carrollton Avenue. Try their delicious lemon ice, or chesnut gelato and you might never seek anyplace else.
