Since the dawn of MTV, the staple of any successful music video was the video vixen. You know -- the chick, the hot girl, the drop-dead gorgeous creature who captured everyone's attention and helped to skyrocket mediocre (or downright horrible) songs to the top of the charts. Whether she's simply playing a supporting role or actually the artist singing the song, no music video is complete without one. So while the boys drool and rewind and pause and drool and pant, let's admit something, Ladies: We're just as captivated. Why? Because we dream of being that girl on the TV screen, just for that three or four minutes of time. So who do YOU want to be?

That was then...

The Original Vixen: Tawny Kitaen in Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" video

When it’s the 80’s and your boyfriend is the lead singer of a rock band, be prepared to be in their music videos.

Cartwheels on cars; the infamous green dress…here’s Tawny at her peak.

-------------------------------------

Beyonce, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)"

Put it this way: When I saw Beyonce in this video, I was rendered completely speechless. She is absolutely stunning and moves like I don’t even know what.

Faith Hill, "Like We Never Loved at All"

Sure, she’s got a set of pipes that can reduce you to tears (in a good way). But in this vid, Faith’s stellar voice shares the stage with hair and makeup that are pure retro perfection. (And she’s playing the part of a woman in pain — which is always fun.)

Kate Nash, "Foundations"

Oh, help. Those shoes! Those dresses! That perfectly perfect Britty Brit accent! And, good God, THOSE SHOES!

ALL OF THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS in Buttons

Oh man, when they’re dancing in the fire….so hot.
