Another “blue” restaurant, also run By Micheal Mina. Excellent food, a splendid bar and hot staff make this hot spot hip. Advertized only by the picture windows on the street, the suits and skirts one sees can be quite baiting. I love the high ceilings and decor as well.

My primary place to purchase all things Gaelic… from Black Watch to utilikilts, good hearty Harris Tweed, and Scotches of all kinds, all my celtic tastes are satiated… especially my craving for Crunchies.

I really don’t know how I ended up here in North Beach. Last thing I knew I was at Harringtons on Front Street, but the Glenmorangie must have got away from me. Not that I’m Complaining, this is a great bar during the week.

A great example of Indy theatre in SF, They currently are utilizing "the “Exit Stage Left” Theatre on Mason street, which has a super-sweet lounge and cafe. I saw “Pride Open” there, a montage on identity that was masterfully displayed.

One of my favorite nightspots, and not just because it’s “Blue.” Great mixed drinks, it was a frequent watering hole when we would get off work at E&O, and hosts DJ’s regularly,and they clear the floor for dancing.

A little outdoor covered plaza, great to stop for a coffee shop at the high end shops, or grab a bite. Tulleys is a frequent stop for me, as is the stationary store.Plus, there is also access to one of my favorite spots… the rooftop garden over Wells Fargo is accessible from the hallway a the top of the escalators.

It’s the Harrod’s of San Francisco, and actually covers two blocks. The basement has a food court that hosts a Wolfgang Puck restaurant as well as a Ben and Jerry’s, and it’s fun to go up to the third or fourth floor to overlook union square.

What need I say? This restaurant sets the bar for class and quality in every way. It only sometimes helps to have a friend who works there.

This Oregon-based Alehouse is situated on Washington Square, and is a frequent stopover on my way out to Pier 39.

Now after working for a Sicilian, I typically don’t frequent Italian restaurants, but Pazzia serves up Toscana faire better than most… that’s northern Italy, for all of you who don’t speak Siccilian… I had the Veal scallopine, perfectionne, and the raviolis I tried were simply Fabeaux… agreeable (and cute) servers kept it authentico, as Boss Massimo made sure we didn’t want for anything. “That’s Amore!!!”

This little bar in the theatre district gets pretty hot I hear… temperature wise… but the upstairs loft reminds me of an old fashioned Pub, where it was cool to sit and watch the crowd below. The main room has a huge post-modern (?) fireplace and it didn’t surprise me that we ended up dancing by the end of the night. The DJ kicked A..

Always a delight to partake of Chef Barney’s cuisine, I usually sit at the bar. I rarely get to eat Sushi, but the Dragon Roll is a favorite of mine, and the drinks are always superbly blended. (p.s. try the Kobe beef sliders… unbef*@knigleavable).

The dark wood tones and sleek lines really serve to make this underground wine bar a class act. They also have catering available to help alleviate the potential damage done by the ten different wineries that hold court here.
