9 Best Blends of 80’s Music and Hair

It was the decade where "Greed was good," "I want my MTV," Crockett and Tubbs were dapper and Nagel was art.

I WANT MY MTV

We laugh at the goofy fashion, the cheesy videos and the awful television.

Does anyone remember “My Two Dads” or was that a really bad hallucination I had?

9. Kajagoogoo - Too Shy

I still remember the first time I saw this flippin’ cool video. It was at an 8th grade birthday party for a girl name Bridget. She had enormous hair. She was soooo cute.

7. Berlin – No More Words

One thing I never questioned about the music video in the 1980’s: The correlation between the song and what the heck was going on in the video. Bonnie and Clyde? Robin Hood? What the hell is this video about?

I still play this song on my iPod.

5. Go Go’s Head Over Heals

My mom, age 66, wears a lot of these same clothes.

3. Human League - Don't You Want Me Baby

Why don’t people walk toward you looking cool in trench coats at night with lots of eye-liner singing about how much they want you anymore?

But, unlike the 70’s and its tendency toward idiocracy (Disco Fever?), the 80’s delivered iconoclastic images that we can be proud of. Great era.

8. A Flock Of Seagulls - I Ran

Funny thing about this video. When I first saw it, I found nothing at all odd about their clothes or hair.

6. Duran Duran - Girls on Film

Anyone really seen the X-rated version of this video? Yes, I know of the “uncensored” version.
But when I was in the 9th grade, that was like a totally big deal. And we were sure a XXX version existed

4. Haircut 100 – Love Plus One

What happen to the sax in today’s music? Additionally, what happen to Rob Lowe? Anyone?

2. OMD So in Love

I dated a girl named… I’ll call her “Heather.” Actually, that’s her name. This was “our” song. I was 16. I drove a Monte Carlo with a t-bar roof. So did she. I am not making this up.
