Boy Vs. Girl - How to Clean A Toilet.

I know, I know. It's not always "Boy Vs. Girl". The definition and tolerance of "the dirt" is more of an individual preference. Yes, it's true. Girls can be just as dirty as boys. However, for the sake of humor and the always ongoing gender battle (oh. and the fact that I totally was faced with this just yesterday in my boy/girl relationship) this guide pits girls against boys. So THERE! Nanny. Nanny. Boo. Boo.

The "Boy" Method for Toilet cleaning.

  • Lift lid.
  • Take that scrubby brush with the long handle and swoosh it around the bowl a few times.
Aaaaaaannnnnddddddddd … yeah.

We’re done here.

The "Girl" Method of toilet Cleaning. (And by "girl" I mean me.)

Ok.  I admit.  I certainly don’t put on eye protection or even {gasp} rubber gloves.  I don’t use a pumice stone … or a toothbrush … or spend an altogether huge amount of time cleaning the toilet.

And, while my toilet certainly doesn’t look like this …

Or even this …

I do manage to make it look pretty clean by the time I’m through.  Hey, what can I say … my toilet doesn’t get THAT dirty.  Juuuussssstttt enough to make me squeamish.

I don’t use a sponge (with my luck that sponge would end up in the kitchen sink).
I use toilet/bathroom specific wash cloths.

  • Wipe the tank.
  • Then that scary, hard to clean area between the tank and the seat.
  • Lift seat … squirt everything to oblivion with spray cleaner.
  • Brusha, Brusha, Brusha the bowl.
  • Put the seat down and flush (futile attempt to keep as many poo particles from flying into the air I’m breathing).
  • Lift the lid and the seat and wipe, wipe, wipe.  (Most usually doing the squinty eye so I don’t get a full view of what my hand is almost touching).

Toilet Seating?

Bet the bathroom lines aren’t a problem at this place!

Voila!

Clean (enough for me) toilet!

Ack. Cleaning the toilet is one of my most hated and dreaded tasks.

Seriously, if I ever have enough cash to build/retrofit a house, one of the first things I’ll do is install floor drains and a spigot in all the bathrooms. Just hose that bitch down, then crack a window and let it drip dry. In and out in five minutes.
