Edible Erotica: Philly’s Best Food Blogs
Philly flavor is captured in words beyond "wiz wit" cheeststeak slanguage. Here are a few of my favorite Philly food blogs that have been known to bring a drool to my mouth in under 10 words or less...
Food In Jars
One of my favorite food writers, Marisa McClellan, shares her love for canning, pickling, preserving and baking in this fabulous foodie blog. I’ve seriously salivated while reading some killer recipes and glancing at her amazing food porn pics (like blood orange marmalade shown above).
And if you’re too freaked to “try this at home” considering your burnt eyebrow is still healing from the last cooking experiment (wasn’t it just mac and cheese?), then you’ll be happy to know that Marisa is teaching Canning classes in Fosters’ demo kitchen.

prepare to drop some cash at this gourmet food shop. just make sure you bring a recipe with you so that you don’t end up leaving with a carload of perishables (you might eat it all-but wind up spending your rent money).
snag some local goods from WF Market before reading so that you’re prepared when the hunger sets in (ususally a blog post or two).

Grab Your Fork And Get Your Hat: When The Printed Word Sends You Running To Fill A Plate
your taste buds are in a frenzy after reading this food erotica (but your brain won’t let you operate a can opener). so high tail it over to Reading Terminal and feast on crazy amounts of different cuisines. only finger lifting involved-the fork to your mouth.
my recommend: apple dumpling with fresh cream from the amish section.
Foobooz
Foobooz editor, Arthur Etchells, share his thoughts of what’s on the plate and what’s in the bottle in Philly. My foodie heart skips a beat when I get to take a peak at his well documented list of restaurants that will be opening soon (food fantasies here I come).
unbreaded
Ben Kessler and Jeff Vogel have a thing for sandwiches and dish out what goes on between the bread in their newly created blog, unbreaded. the burger and fry food porn is out of this world. my advice: either grab some buns and meat before you sit down to an unbreaded session OR be ready to deliriously run to the nearest burger joint.
Food Bloggers on the Big Screen
You like Hawaiian shirts? You love to watch the Food Network? Then there’s a 1000% percent chance you will love Philly’s online (and sometimes live) cooking show, Fork You TV. Oh, and yes that’s Marisa McClellan from Food in Jars (when it comes to food in philly, she’s that fabulous to be noted twice in this guide). And did I mention their live shows take place at Fosters Urban Homeware (more info right below-really-just scroll down)
Time to get rid of those seasoned (a.k.a dirty) pans from college and pick up some fancy cooking gear at this Urban Homemare mecca. And if you need a bit of inspiration but don’t get the Food Network anymore (your magic free cable is gone now-boo), then step right into their fancy shmancy demo kitchen (bonus: some of the classes are free. which means you can actually get those pots).
