I love cheese. I could live on cheese. These are some of my favorite gourmet cheese stores and restaurants offering something cheesy. It's the cheesiest.

Truffle

2906 East 6th Avenue, Denver, CO 80206

One of the coolest specialty stores around with stinky cheese galore. Truffles of course, too. A great stop for pickign up everything you need for a cheese tasting or tapas night.

Chez Cheese Gourmet Market

1512 Larimer Street, Denver, CO 80202

The name is great, right? I mean come on. I just giggle when I say it. Located right outside Larimer Square, Chez Cheese allows Downtown Denver’s foodies a perfectly wonderful cheese selection for when you’re feeling cheesy.

Whole Foods Markets

2375 East 1st Avenue, Denver, CO 80206

Whole Foods’ selection of cheese is really quite amazing for being at a super market. The staff in the cheese department is very knowledgeable about suggestions and they even carry my personal favorite, Idiazabel…a mexican cheese.

Dining Out Cheesy Style

These restaurants have cheese plates, cheesy pasta and melted cheesy goodness.

LA Fondue

1040 15th Street, Denver, CO 80202

The ultimate in cheese dining is when you can dip your veggies, bread and meats in a pot of melted cheese. This can be fun for groups or a romantic dinner for two. I got a findue set for Christmas and can’t wait to try it out and revive the 70’s love fest.

Harry's

818 17th St Denver, CO 80202

when having your cocktail or a glass of wine, Harry’s has 2 excellent cheese options to tempt your taste buds. The individual baked brie with fruit and crackers is rich and heavenly. Harry’s Continental offers a variety of sliced cheeses, crackers, dried fruit and fresh fruit that is filling and simple.

Cheese Shops

Only the best will do when you’re feeling cheesy.

Cheese Company

5575 East 3rd Avenue, Denver, CO 80220

Every Christmas we hit the Cheese Company for several varieties of cheese and pate for our champagne, pre-dinner course. The selections are fabulous and the small shop is quaint and friendly. A great Hilltop location makes it nice for the suburb folks.

AIX

719 East 17th Avenue, Denver, CO 80203

A lovely French restaurant with one of my favorite appetizers, the buffalo carpacio and cheese plate. Drizled with lavendar honey and apricots, the sweet and salty mixed with the gorgeous textures is really yummy.

Mizuna

225 East Seventh Avenue, Denver, CO 80203

4 words: Lobster Macaroni and Cheese. This was my first foray into this now ever popular dish turning up all over Denver, but I still think it’s the best. Creamy cheese sauce, soft noodles and succulent lobster combine to form the most delicious pasta ever.

Wow, cheese shops! I’m going to go broke and get really fat at the same time. But, I will still say thanks for this great guide!
