A little more upscale than most barbecue spots makes Big Hoss great for a date. You can order barbecue, steaks and more and sit at the bar and drink a cold beer. This Highlands located restaurant is gaining a large following quickly.

Sam Taylors is great for families and filled with barbecue lovers. They have a nice smoky sauce and their blend of spices is easily detected and makes their barbecue recognizable and unique,

Famous for southern style, traditional barbecue that is fresh, moist, and delicious. You’ll be going back again and again.

This Colfax staple is small, a little dingy and always a favorite for downtown lunchers or weekend drinkers.

I honestly prefer their barbecued chicken to their brisket, but Famous Dave’s is a decent choice if you’re in the area and want some barbecued goodness.

Brothers is one of the better known and more popular barbecue joints in Denver, with several locations. I think they have great links and pulled pork sandwiches. The sauce is a nice combination of sweet and spicy…just like I like it.

Get the turkey leg! Lots of barbecued options ranging from beef, pork, chicken and turkey, but the easiest way to enjoy is meat on a stick…the turkey leg. There is a satellite cart location on the 16th St. mall that is packed daily with a line down the street.

Really hot and spicy sauce for those of you who like some heat! This is a well-known southern style restuarant that also serves up great fired catfish. Mmm, Mmm, good. Wear your elastic waist pants.

A little chainy for my tastes, but their awesome sides and meat sampler plate make it great to go with a couple of people and share the wealth.
