Casbah Cafe
Los Angeles, CA 90029
Mentioned in the Following Guides
This funky, cozy coffee house transports patrons out of the crazed hustle and bustle of LA with its relaxed European aesthetic. The baked goods are an excellent compliment to fine brews (you can’t go wrong with the coffees or the teas).
Another middle eastern themed cafe, but this one is in the Sunset Junction area of Silverlake (it’s kind of like a neighborhood within a neighborhood). Small and usually quite full of people with laptops, their internet is not very reliable, but you can usually steal a signal from somewhere nearby if theirs is being finicky. The world music that they play is an interesting backdrop for being creative and they have a really cool selection of teas and treats.
Complaints: Well, the internet wasn’t working the last time I was there. Again, put up a dang sign.

Most mornings you’ll be hard-pressed to find a table at this Silverlake coffee shop that isn’t already set up with a macbook and a diligent writer/student/scenester typing away. This is why I get my coffee (which happens to be quite good) to go.
