Ladies, don't let that mediocre "Hot or Not" rating get you down. I've browsed the "women" section of the site to find some stand outs that really know how to set up their profiles and work it. If you follow these tips and techniques, your rating should be skyrocketing in no time. Everyone on this list is from the greater Seattle area but the advice is universal

Pouty Lips

Probably one of the most common techniques on HotorNot.com, the pouty lips can be deadly when delivered correctly. There are endless photos in which this move has been utilized on the site but, this 21 yr old truly uses this maneuver flawlessly. The hair, the angle, everything was thought out perfectly. Take a lesson from Naomi (aka: “Names!”) and make sure to use the lip pucker with subtlety as she does, so that it doesn’t look too contrived.

Her bio let’s the men know that she is into “muddin” and “floating” and that she also believes in “Karma” as well as “hunting”. She also mentions “Party’s” in her keywords which I’m assuming means that she likes stuff that belongs to parties..(?)

The Overhead Shot

The overhead shot is extremely common on Hot or Not, and for a good reason. This 20 year old has Turner Syndrome and is only 4’2’’ but, thanks to the use of this technique on all 3 of her profile photos, she could easily pass for 8 foot 9 or taller.

Or..wait! Wouldn’t it actually make more sense to shoot from the ground up? Whatever.

What, you think people are just born with lashes and brows like this? I understand the confusion; she looks crazy mature and classy, but that just means that she’s done a wonderful job. It was a shock for me to find the words “pimp” and “fake id” in her keywords.

Believe it or not, her page says that she’s only 18.

If you look at this photo long enough, I think you’ll understand what I’m getting at. If you need this advice, you probably already know it.

Danae has the highest rating on this list at a 9.6 but that might change shortly. One of 2 nip “slip” photos is still featured but, since I found the account, a few select keywords and additions to the bio have been added that may surprise a few of the men who previously voted on Danaes account

Soft Focus

This 21 year old’s profile uses the same affect that people like Barbara Walters and Cybill Shepard have been using for years. With a soft focus like this, men will instantly pick up that one of her keywords must be “charming” but, most importantly, they may completely forget about the fact that she has “crazy” and “being nuts” listed as well.

You may be putting on the years as many of the woman on hotornot.com are, but there is a huge interest in cougars and in the “mature” genre right now amongst younger men.

Keep it playful and let them know that you are still a woman that is young at heart, and enjoys throwing “dice” and “snowtubing”. If the rest of her profile isn’t enough to bring awareness to her continued interest in adventure, her topical pirate garb should definitely do the trick.

Accessorize Strategically & Focus on Composition

The “polyamorous” 18 year old Kat is letting everyone know that she is on the prowl with her fierce stance and strategically placed accessories. Her 30 or so bracelets range from hemp to plastic and scream her interests like “techno” and “weed” loud and clear.

Her left hand lifts half of her bosom as well as her shirt to expose her midriff, while the right side of her shirt has been pulled down to be quite revealing. Not too revealing though, because she’s fashion forward enough to be wearing 2 bras.

The pants are unbuttoned and her clover tattoo says, “Lucky for you I’m barely legal.” while she taunts onlookers with a subtle tuft peeking out from her lime green cotton briefs.

What’s truly impressive is her name tag which, beyond being just another brilliant accessory, implies that she may have taken this photo at work with little preparation. I know that may be mind boggling for you, considering the pure perfection of the all around composition, but don’t forget that her profile also features the keyword “spontaneous”.

Call me petty, histrionic, vain and shallow, but I find myself thinking about aging a lot lately.
