Join Parties That Cook and Willie Green's Organic Farm for a unique hands-on cooking class that will take you from the farm to the table. Explore the land during an in-depth farm tour of Willie Greens, a 55-acre family-owned farm in the beautiful town of Monroe, WA just north of Seattle. Learn about fresh, locally grown produce before creating a seasonal gourmet meal with ingredients plucked from the fields. Following the farm tour, guests will break into groups and work together to prepare recipes highlighting the season’s bounty. When the cooking is over, the group will come together to enjoy the 'fruits' of their labor while mingling with new friends at a long table set in the field. Local winemaker, Kurt Johnson of Ward Johnson Winery, will be on-site pouring wine. After the event, guests are emailed copies of the recipes and digital photos of the afternoon's activities. Parties That Cook designs fresh, seasonal menus for each event, emphasizing ingredients from the farm. The menu will be selected and emailed to guests prior to the event. Previous cooking experience is not required to participate. The price includes cooking instruction by professional chefs, a tour of Willie Green's Organic Farm, a delicious 4-course meal using ingredients from the farm, wine, seated dining service, electronic copies of the recipes and photos, and the camaraderie of cooking with new friends! This event is outside so please dress in layers and bring a coat. Flat shoes are required to participate in the farm tour. Cost: $125 per person.
