Originally, tattoos primarily featured black and white designs due to limited ink color options.

Over time, a wide array of colors became available. However, black and white tattoos remain popular choices even today.

Black ink is the most frequently used in tattooing. It’s typically made from soot, containing hydrocarbons. Some black inks even include animal bone charcoal. Blackout tattoos, popularized by contemporary artists, have become a significant trend. These tattoos involve covering entire limbs in solid black ink. However, be mindful of potential cultural appropriation concerns. Consult your doctor before getting a black tattoo, as the ink may contain carcinogenic components like benzo(a)pyrene. Discover a curated selection of stunning black tattoo designs to inspire your next ink.

Roses don’t need to be red to be beautiful. A black rose tattoo makes a bold statement. What does it symbolize? It often represents death and grief. However, it can also signify strength and rebellion. The Irish used it as a symbol of resistance against English rule in the 16th century, commemorated in the song ‘The Little Black Rose.’ Sailors also got black roses as a sign of hope before dangerous voyages. If you’re open to interpretation, this design is perfect.

You know you're going to give your kid a complex if you call them "The Mean Bean" instead of; sweetiepie, sugar face, bear, etc. My nickname stuck- even when I got nicer. AND my affinity for all things BEAN happens to be tremendous; Coffee beans (my coffee feign), Cocoa beans, Vanilla beans, chickpeas (yes, it's a bean), black beans....and so on. As for the "mean" part, depends on which ex-boyfriend you ask. I think I'm super sugary. And no, I will not be writing any guides about beans. Unless I get a special request.
