This bar and guest house combo is located just a short walk from both Frenchman Street and the French Quarter. The bar is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. They don’t offer live music, but are a good place to go before or after a Frenchmen Street gig. If you’re feeling adventurous (or shaggy, too sober and poor) stop by on a monday for a haircut and a shot for only $10. (I’m not making this up.) If you want a cool place to stay near the Frenchmen Street action (and within staggering distance from the French Quarter as well), reserve a room at the Royal Street Inn. Check out the Bukowski Room, or the Kiss and Tell Suite. All rooms are unique from one another; some offer balcony access, and all offer a lot more New Orleans feel than any room you can rent at the Marriott.
