Maryville is a city in Blount County, Tennessee, 20 miles south of Knoxville. The population was 23,120 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Blount CountyGR6. The city is home to Maryville College, the corporate headquarters of the Ruby Tuesday casual dining restaurant chain, and Tennessee State Champion high school teams in football (1970, 1976, and 1978 in Class AA, and 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2005 in Class 4A) and baseball (1989 in Class AAA).
