Cheverly is a small town in Maryland, close to Washington, D.C. It was incorporated in 1931 and has 6,433 Residents as of the 2000 census.

It is one of the few cities in Prince George's County that has its own police force, and is generally regarded as a nice area. The town is almost exclusively residential, and has three schools in its borders, Gladys Noon Spellman Elementary, Judith P. Hoyer Early Childhood Center, and St. Ambrose Catholic School.
There is a Washington Metro station in the southern part of Cheverly, on Columbia Park Road.
It is home to the Prince George's Hospital Center and the Cheverly Public Playhouse.
