Shelbyville is a city in Shelby County, Kentucky, United States. It was founded on land donated by William Shannon in 1792 and named for Kentucky's first govenor, Issac Shelby. Shelbyville is the most racially diverse small town in Kentucky and has the largest hispanic population of any incorparated place in the state. The population was 10,085 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Shelby CountyGR6.
