Jeffersontown is a city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 26,633 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 26,232. When the government of Jefferson County merged with the city of Louisville, Kentucky in 2003, its citizens became part of Louisville Metro, however, for Census purposes, Louisville is only counted for the old boundaries plus the former unincorporated communities that were annexed.
