Orofino ("fine gold" [ore] in Spanish) is a town in Clearwater County, Idaho, along the Clearwater River. The population was 3,247 at the 2000 census. Originally the name was two words, Oro Fino, for a creek nearby, that was named for the quality of gold found in the area.
