Podcasts. You're either listening to them or you're not. And if you're not, you should be. If you think they're all geeky, boring, and technology-related, you're so wrong. There are podcasts all about the latest (and oldest) in music, pop culture, and more. Some of them even have video (hi, you can watch The Soup and VH1's Best Week Ever podcasts!). Or you can just sit and relax while listening to Ira Glass's beautiful voice. No matter what you're interested in, you can find a podcast (or 20) to entertain you. Listen to them on the subway, in your car, or while you're sitting in the office. Once you start listening to podcasts, you might just get addicted!

This American Life

This American Life Radio Episode

Here’s a really fabulous episode of This American Life with Robin Epstein, ex-producer of a game show for teen-age girls on the Oxygen Network.

I think Ira Glass (and his glasses) is just amazing. This American Life is fabulous all on its own, but Ira Glass really, really makes it what it is. Love him!

Diggnation is a podcast hosted by the creator of Digg.com, Kevin Rose, and Alex Albrecht. The main idea of the show is to dicuss the week’s top stories from Digg.com, but they often segway into talking about beer (they always try a different beer on the show) and sometimes drunken humor. Diggnation truly is tech talk for the 20-something generation. They could make anyone love listening about tech.

Diggnation

Discussing parents and technology. While drinking beer of course. Exactly why I love these boys!

Probably on their way to getting intoxicated. Ohhh Diggnation.

And then of course there’s the sex and love advice podcast with Dan Savage, the newspaper columnist and media personality. He answers all those hard to ask questions; no need to be embarrassed. Even if you don’t have any particular questions for Dan, you can always learn something from his podcasts.

I would post a clip, but I don’t really know how much you Guidespotters can handle!

Best of YouTube

For some reason, some of us just don’t have time to peruse YouTube all day long. Well now you can get your quick fix of YouTube with the Best of YouTube podcast.

I mean, how useful will it be for you to always be able to talk about the day’s best YouTube videos? Hello, Mr. or Ms. Popularity!

All Songs Considered

Of course you know “All Things Considered.” Well now the good people at npr have come up with a weekly podcast called “All Songs Considered.” This is basically where you can learn about all the hottest songs you may not otherwise hear about. If the radio’s just not doing it for you anywhere, get the “All Songs Considered” podcast. I’ve learned about so many band from this podcast!

Ra Ra Riot

Ra Ra Riot is one of the fabulous bands I’ve been listening to after last week’s “All Songs Considered” episode. This is their song, “Dying is Fine,” an incredible song with an even more awesome video.

VH1's Best Week Ever

VH1's Best Week Ever

Probably my favorite moment ever on Best Week Ever. Frangela is (are?) one of the funniest acts on Best Week Ever and is (are?) always able to take a current news story and point out its absolute ridiculousness in a way that has me rolling on the floor laughing!

Is the World Flat??

Where the previous The Best Week Ever clip came from. Sherri Shepherd has never thought about whether or not the world is flat. WTF.

Buzz Out Loud

Tech news is pretty big in the world of podcasting (hmmm can’t figure out why!) and Buzz Out Loud is another of my favorite tech podcast. Hosted by Molly Wood and Tom Merritt. the news is always entertaining; not boring and dry.

Listen to Buzz Out Loud everyday if you want a quick, entertaining overview of the day’s tech news, or you just want to sound semi-knowledgeable about technology in conversation!

The Soup Podcast

The Soup Podcast

You obviously love The Soup, right? Well, now you can get little short Soup clips right on your iPod, or wherever you choose to watch them. I love it because I can get a dose of Joel McHale and The Soup whenever the craving hits.

This little episode is absolutely hilarious.

Boston
I love cupcakes, the color pink, writing, technology, blogging, trying to learn Japanese, and walking from one end of Boston to the other. I make it my goal to try one new thing in Boston every week, but sometimes I find things I love so much, I just can't tear myself away from them. Boston...
