Visit Wilmington North Carolina! I am!

I was waiting for my bff’s husband to get his post dinner treat and much to my surprise Sophia Bush (of One Tree Hill fame) walked in. I didn’t realize it … but we then spent some time oogling chocolate hair dryers to get a good look at her. Hey. I just wanted to actually SEE her. I wasn’t going to ruin her ice cream time.

24 shops, 4 places to eat all housed in a historic set of buildings connected by brick walkways and open air courtyards.

I had a sandwich here after tooling about in the cotton exchange. But what really sticks in my memory is the “ice cream nachos” on the menu. Ice cream? Nachos? Ok!

It’s an itsy, bitsy teeny weenie airport. I only ever arrive about an hour before my flight. Getting through security and finding your gate is a snap.

You can tour the studio but from what I hear they don’t allow photos. So, as much as I live memories I like photographs even more.

Screen Gems studio is where Dawson’ Creek was filmed and One Tree Hill is currently filmed.

If you’re lucky you may just have a real life star siting while out and about.

The first time I visited I saw Sophia Bush. The second time I walked right by Sophia Bush, James Lafferty (who TOTALLY looked at me), and that guy who plays Mouth. This was just after I spent an hour or so in spitting distance from Hilarie Burton. (She’s totally tiny!)

A store that literally has a little of everything.

Funny t-shirts, jewelry, books, military surplus?

I spent a good hour wandering around looking at everything.

I had a delightful evening with my bff and her hubby. We tested microbrews and had some 1/2 price apps’. The fried green tomatoes are the best thing since sliced bread.

This time I do believe I want to try their “Buffalo Bleu sticks”. Sticks filled with bleu and monteray jack cheese and tossed in buffalo wing sauce? Sounds like heaven to me!

Tuesday = 10% off entrees for two.
Wednesday = $8 per lady for cheese and chocolate (an extra $6 for chicken and shrimp.)
Thursday = $6.00 Martinis
Friday/Saturday = LIVE music on the deck.
Sunday = 1/2 price bottles of select types of wine.

Almost made it here for ladies night but plans changed. Hopefully we’ll put our hands up on their dips during my next visit.

I have to admit. This type of bar is no longer my cup o’ tea. But, after a few too many Blue Moon drafts, the booming music lured me in.

I spent most of my time there staring in awe at the girls who lined up to ride ’em dirty. Yes. City Limits has a mechanical bull. And as the night continued it was more often than not a “sexy” ride.

That and the huge amount of college kids making out on the dance for made for quite an interesting time.

P.S. Bull rides are FREE all night long on Friday nights.
