My budding new Love Affair with Whole Foods Market and Organic Living

Greeted by the scent of flower blossoms and firm standing plants as they welcome you into this blissful food oasis, Whole Foods has saved me from my chemical food dependence. After years of battling obesity and erratic hormones that made me feel more like an Ogre than a shrinking violet, I have found emancipation in organic foods.

I am a chef and most certainly know the importance of fresh, high quality ingredients, but I was suffering from an addiction to preservatives, sugar, unhealthy carbs and dangerous fats. I would feel weak and lethargic. I turned into a beast. I was stark raving mad when I couldn’t give my body the junk it craved. My mood swings were intense and I had no energy. Then, one cold morning as I rose out of bed with stiff muscles and a headache, I declared that day “D” day! I was killing myself and it had to stop!

I read a book about organic foods and healthy carbs. This book touches on everything from hormone balance to reversing metabolic aging by exercising, and eating a diet rich in good fats and preservative and hormone free foods. I began making changes. I stopped eating processed foods and sugar. I also gave up fake sugar, fast foods and preservative laden foods.

I have embraced the lights that shine the dawning of a new heaven inside of Whole Foods Market. I have been seduced by the promise of organic meats, produce and cleaning products. It’s like the Garden of Eden. It’s pure and innocent. It’s full of robust wholesomeness and all that’s right about food. I am an addict of this place.

Now of course, greatness does come at a high price. You may even need to work extra hours or cut back on some other luxuries to afford your newly accelerated grocery bill, but, is there a price on your health? Granted it is quite a bit more expensive than most other grocery stores, but let’s face it; Quality is priceless. I am merely scratching the surface of living an organic life. It is a journey I invite you all to share with me. As I make changes in my lifestyle, I will deliver unto you all that I am learning in an attempt to enrich your life via my research and experiences. Until we meet again, peace be to all and I wish you a chemical free life!

Writing is my muse. Sharing information gives me purpose. I am just a mere vehicle in which information and knowledge are shared with the masses. Okay, I love people, writing and reporting on anything that I find titillating. First person accounts and life changing information is what I am passio...
