Who needs a boyfriend when you have Mac & Cheese?

Living in the Great Northwest, we know when the sun starts going down early and the rain comes to stay, there are few things that can keep us warm and cozy on a blustery night. I'm here to tell you - I'm not talking about a boyfriend (or girlfriend as the case may be) ...I'm talking Mac & Cheese baby! West Seattle is chalked full of restaurants with their own take on the comfort food classic. You have Skylark on Delridge with their baked elbow pasta in a Cheesy "heavy cream" sauce that could induce a heart attack. There's AMA AMA Oyster Bar in the Alaska Junction who puts a twist on the classic by adding oysters to the mix. But my ultimate favorite is the Mac & Cheese, or shall we call it "bit of heaven", that you can get at West 5 (also located in the Alaska Junction). There are few words that can describe just how good it is...but let me give you some pointers. Always order the large...you will eat the small one and wish you had another one...so go big, or go home. Baked to perfection, the breadcrumb topping is always golden and the unique noodles tuck cheese in every nook and cranny - so each bite is frighteningly cheesy and good. My only complaint is that I never seem to leave enough time for it to cool, and the first bite can be scalding hot! So take your time, it's just that good! Boys come and go, but on a cold night - I'd rather put my money on the West 5 mac & cheese...it always seems to deliver.

This is only semi-related, but I feel like sharing. Last week I tried the bacon mac and cheese from “Pasta Hut,” and let me tell you — I think I’d rather be with a dude than ever have that slop again. At least now I know where to go for the good stuff!
