I wanted to be a FAIRY PRINCESS
“Chelsea, you need to put on your seatbelt….” this was a constant battle between my Mother and I. I was a kid who liked to stretch and roll around in the back seat, put my feet on the ceiling, lay on the floor….etc. All horrifying and dangerous forms of behavior, I was a participant.
“But MA, I don’t need to.”
“Why don’t you need to put on a seatbelt Chelsea?!”
“Because I’m a fairy. If we get hit, I will just flick away.”
I truly believed that I would just FLICK AWAY.
I wanted to be VADA
Who knows what it was, something about how “cool” she was? Macauley Culkin was her “bff” and I was obsessed with Home Alone? I don’t know. All I know is Vada was my “fake name” for many years playing house and travel agent.
A Prima Ballerina
Yes, I wore the point shoes and gained the callouses on my feet. Still proud of them to this day. I aspired to be the next Prima and dance on my toes forever. Then I kicked off the shoes and gravity took over and I fell in love with modern dance.
What did The Pussycat Dolls want to be? They wanted to “famous, wanted to be a star, wanted to be in movies….want to see the world, drive nice cars, want to have groupies…..”
Totally something I would’ve said.
Take a career personality test
I think many of us can relate to this
Are there people who have done it all??? Why not?
Somewhere Hip Hop Star Flo-Rida is Crying
Ralph: When I grow up, I’m going to Bovine University! Me fail English?? That’s un-possible!
I wanted to be a lighthouse keeper
Actually, I still do, and YES they do still exist some places! I fell in love with lighthouses some time in high school, specifically with the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse seen here. I actually felt like I had some connection there, like in another lifetime I was its keeper. I was like 16 or something. For 2 years in high school, even though I was social and liked people, I told everyone my career ambition was to be a lighthouse keeper by myself. Such a loner…

I wanted to be on Broadway baby!
Mickey Mouse Club
I wanted to be on the show so badly that I made a tape and sent it in… all on my own!
Bozo Buckets
I wanted to be on Bozo only for the buckets. Other than that clowns terrified me. Then I’d be known as that kick ass girl who made it into the last bucket!
This video pretty much sums it up
Astronaut
OK, so I say astronaut, but in my head that looked a helluva lot more like Star Trek TNG than the clumsy way we still do it. At eight years old, I was convinced this is what space travel would be like by the time I was of age.
Nurse
Either I was a boring, unimaginative child or I was practical as all hell— I wanted to be a nurse.
