In the past, if you wanted to see funny viral songs or music videos you had to wait with hushed anticipation for one of the popular music video stations to air them. Or, that you would catch them on the local TV comedy sketch show, if you tuned in time for the shows airing. But the internet has brought to us much that was in the past, not right at our fingertips, quite literally. Thankfully, massive video file sharing websites have changed all of this. Even allowing for some relatively unknown individuals to upload and share their funny songs and music videos for the world to enjoy; sometimes even catapulting such previously unheard of persons to the upper echelon of internet stardom.

Weird Al Yankovic

Amish Paradise

Perhaps the most popular comedy videos on the video file sharing websites are of Weird Al’s. Hey, no matter what, he is one of the most successful comedic musicians ever. So it only makes sense that he is so dammed popular online. This music video, which is a parody of a Coolio music video, has already gotten more then 10-million views. Go Al!

Bob

This popular Al video making fun of Bob Dylan is hilarious. He is holding up signs of many different sentences that read the same forwards as backwards. How he thought of this many things I do not know. But three million plus views and the fact that it is indeed funny, is all that I need to know to watch it.

Fat

One of the most popular Al videos of all time, makes fun of Michael Jackson’s Thriller album to the tee. In fact, the video itself mimics the actual music video by Michael Jackson to the tee. This is one of the funniest Al videos you will ever watch, and nearly four million other viewers wholeheartedly agree with me. The best part is the blow-up fat suit that Al is wearing.

Like A Surgeon

Another hugely popular Al video from the internet is “Like a Surgeon.” Making fun of Madonna’s 80s music video, “Like a Virgin.” This one has gotten more than 5-millions views and counting, and there is a scene where Al sings and dances just like the M-lady. Of the many Al videos out there, this one is a total keeper!

Mad TV

Hillary Duff (the Parody)

Just leave it to the cats over at Mad TV to pick on everybody and anybody as often as they can, and they will. Such comedic prowess is easily demonstrated in this music video which basically portrays Hillary Duff as an inept idiot who masquerades under the guises of sex to sell her CDs…hmm, not that far off from the truth if you ask me! A million and a half views are testament to that.

Ashley Simpson

This capitalized immediately on the Saturday Night Live mishaps of Ashley Simpson, where she forgot the words, danced around for a few minutes like an idiot and then fled the stage never to return again. Don’t be surprised if you never see her on SNL again. Over 1-million views allowed this internet parody to reach the masses so we can all enjoy poking fun at Ashley—hey its great fun!

R Kelly

After all of the trials and tribulations that this singer has been through, it only makes sense that the world has earned the right to make fun of him. A couple hundred thousands views let’s me know that many out there agree with me. Whether or not you think that R Kelly did it, this video is still tons of fun!

Avril Lavigne - Black friend (MAD TV parody)

Making fun of Avril’s tune “Girlfriend,” this song basically just rips on her for not having any black friends. Whether that is true or not is void of the point. The funny thing is the song, and that they got a girl to play Avril’s part that looks and sings just like her. Nearly five hundred thousand views online proves that making fun of Avril helps videos go viral.

Barbie Girl Music Video (The Sims)

The hit song making fun of Barbie play dolls comes full circle as some innovator took the popular computer game “The Sims” and created a whole music video to this. The weird thing is that this video has gotten over 12-million, yes TWELVE MILLION plays. So there has to be something to it. Check it out and see if this is funny or just oddly viral.

Funny Star Wars Music Video Tokyo Dance Trooper

While this video was obviously created by a big fan of the Star Wars movies, they really went to some absurd lengths to bring it the eyes of the public. The main premise is: what if you were to put a dude in a storm trooper costume as they paraded through the crowded streets of one of the largest cities in the world? The ending result is hilarity and a viral capacity that generated over a million views!

Bob Saget

Danny Tanner is not Gay!

A hilarious song written and performed by the smut mister of comedy, Bob Saget. Once known as the more refined and conservative member of the Hollywood elite, Saget has since rebuked those claims to fame. Quit on America’s Funniest Home Videos and has gone a mad streak of trying to offend people with his witty and hit-you-in-the-face profane comedy. And guess what? It’s damn funny!

Tom Lehrer - Poisoning pigeons in the park

Tom Lehrer is not known by many from either of the past several generations. But in the 50s he was the Weird Al and the Steven Lynch. Still today this guy is really funny. I was able to actually find this video of Lehrer taped in the late 50s, when he was at the height of his fame. It just goes to show that not all that much is different in the realm of musical comedy these days. Comedians still pull out all of the stops just to make us all chuckle. And thank goodness that they do! The guy is just really funny, check it out!

This very popular Steven Lynch song “Special Olympics” is not the most politically correct song you will ever hear. But this just really translates into it being one of the funnier songs that you will ever listen to. Nearly two and a half million views online later, SO aims to be one of Lynch’s most popular viral videos—and for many good reasons too. Not for the easily offended, but damn funny to boot!

Perhaps on of Lynch’s more popular songs, this one takes on the notion that Jesus had a brother, unnamed in the bible, who was called Craig and loved to party. This is just a damned funny tune that will have you snorting out of your nose by the time he is through singing it. Nearly 2-millions views prove that Lynch is a fast rising star in the world of sung comedy.

If I were Gay

This very popular Lynch tune reminds every straight male about that time that they got hit on by a gay man that would not stop hitting on them. Or if you never had that experience as a straight male, it enlightens you to just what that might feel like if you were to go through it.

The Best Friends Song

This one is for all of the men out there who have had trouble picking up a girlfriend before and always have to fight with the girls they pick up because they have a friend who does not like them. If you thought there were some raunchy comedy videos on the net, you are damn right my friends. This one, created by Trevor Moore, leader of the hit comedy troupe on IFC, The Whitest Kids you Know, offers an insight into the mind of what it might have been like to grow up as Moore. Nearly half a million views later, and it’s easy to see why these guys are garnering so many fans—they are really funny folks!

Dinosaur Rap

After grabbing nearly two hundred thousands views in a relatively short amount of time, this music video is becoming well known by many frequenters of the online video file sharing websites. Dinosaur rap offers one thing: a rap song with dinosaurs. Something that Trevor Moore has claimed has never been done before, and he is right. While this video is mostly weird, it is also quite funny!

We Gonna Make Love (Until You Wake Up)

A song that was perhaps inspired by the viral video craze a few years past, has offered many great looks into what it’s like to be in the mind of Trevor Moore. This song portrays the all-to-often heard of date-rape theme, where the guys are charged with putting something in a girls drink and taking advantage of them. So Moore and company decided it would be great fun to poke a joke at this topic. What happened was this video, which has already garnered nearly a hundreds thousand views online.

He is the world’s most hated dictator, perhaps WWII is what made Adolph Hitler so unlikable. But he is back in this music video “Hitler Rap” to let the world know that he has reformed his ways and is now really into rap music and hip-hop culture. Of the many funny videos by this awesome comedy troupe. “Hitler Rap” delves into a new direction, and features several well known R & B singers and rappers. A hundred thousand views do not lie, this is really funny stuff.

Although this video has yet to breach the candid hundred thousand marker, its damn close. It features Trevor Moore once again singing a supposed learning song to children. This one takes a bit to build up to, but the finale is well worth every minute spent watching it. Moore takes you again on a wild ride that leaves you laughing so hard you are crying in the end.

Amy Winehouse Parody

Amy Winehouse - Rehab Parody

This brand new parody was just made to knock all of the hype surrounding the British pop sensation, Amy Whinehouse, who is currently in and out of rehab for smoking crack. If you smoke it they will make fun of you. A hard lesson learned for Winehouse and a really funny video for the rest of us to enjoy. Nearly a hundred thousand views are proof that this music video is really freaking funny!

Corky & The Juice Pigs - I'm The Only Gay Eskimo

This trio comedy singing and playing group has toured the word internationally, known for their many hilarious songs about different things. Their most popular song however, is this one, about the life and times of an Eskimo that realizes he is the only gay Eskimo in his tribe. This candid performance on Mad TV is one of the best I have seen of Corky, and serves to demonstrate just how freaking funny these three dudes really are! Not to mention it has gotten over a quarter million views already.
