Did you ever see someone in a movie that felt so evil, yet when you heard their name, you fell over with laughter? This guide is meant to be a showcase of sorts to the nasties with names that totally offset their evil auras. As always, all contributions are welcome and encouraged.

Count Dooku/Darth Tyrannus (Star Wars)

Christopher Lee is an amazing actor, and also a man who has become renown for playing some of the most evil villains in cinema history. In the Clone Wars era Star Wars he plays a Sith Lord, yet another very imposing villain. However, his name sounds more like something a toddler does on the big kid potty. Maybe that’s why he bacame a Sith lord, all the people teasing him about his name. And the whole Darth Tyrannus thing? It’s just too forced. I might be into it if he was reptilian with big teeth and whatnot.

The Deadly Bulb (The Tick)

The Tick has always been known for oddball villains but this guy is hands down my favorite. He was chastised for a having a pig for a leg, and that eventually lead to a life of crime, yet he was so ashamed of his deformity that he went with the moniker “The Deadly Bulb.” However, by the end of the episode, his pig for a leg saved his life and he gave up The Deadly Bulb personae and gladly pronounced himself to be Pigleg, and stated that his only goal in life would be to make his pig for a leg happy. Unfortunately, he never returned to the show in any capacity. (Sniff)

Jeff (Scud the Disposable Assassin)

Jeff is the epitome of this guide. Scud was a comic similar to the Tick and and the Jeff was his arch rival, because if Scud ever killed Jeff, Scud would self destruct, being a disposable assassin, naturally. So, Scud dismembered her, and Jeff had her body rebuilt so as to destroy Scud. And yes, Jeff was a woman. The comic dealt with this, stating that if you were a woman with a guy’s name, you’d be pretty pissed off too.

Lloyd (Legend of the Dragoon)

Lloyd was a running villain in the Legend of the Dragoon game who was out for vengence for his race being slaughtered to the point of extinction. He basically wanted to destroy all of humankind. His name though, sounds like your lewd uncle who bowls, drinks far too much, and gets thrown out of strip clubs for using dollar bills with strings attached to them. There’s a scene in the game where he kills a character off in a very awesome manner, and the main screams out in grief “Lloooooyyyyyyd!!!!!!!!” I keep thinking of a wife screaming that in a sitcom, possibly starring Al Bundy.

Sugar Man (X-Men)

Marvel did this on purpose, yet, it still baffles be, even though it actually kinda works. He’s a being that’s all head with four arms and a set of legs attached, nasty razor-sharp teeth and a wicked tongue. On top of that, he’s the mentality of a street smart thug, and he goes by Sugar Man. In his own words, “They call me Sugar Man on account I’m so sweet!”
