Isn’t it the pits when you fall in love with some really great underground nerd-hop duo, and then suddenly they get a drummer and become Vampire Weekend? Then, instead of being cutting edge, front row style, you’re stuck by the port-a-potties at Coachella. It’s always more fun to be ahead of the curve.
DAVID BEKOFF - Filmmaker/Networking Genius
As I write this, David has 1,875 friends on Facebook. By the time I finish writing this paragraph, this figure is sure to have doubled. I met David in college, and was lucky enough to work with him on a music video.
David is currently living in Dusseldorf, Germany, where he is making a documentary about Orson Welles.

BRENMAR - Musician
The incomparably dedicated and inventive Brenmar decided to teach himself how to play with some music equipment in a basement one day. Soon enough, a guy from The Liars scooped him up to be in his new band, These Are Powers.

TOM DEGEETER - Musician
In addition to being one of the hardest-working people I know, Tom DeGeeter is just a plain old nice guy. Along with his bandmate, Marcus Graap, Tom has created compilations with guests ranging from Radical Face to Markus Acher of The Notwist.
Brady Miller
His band is called Howl. I’m not sure if they are on the Internets, because this kid doesn’t seek out attention, but you will have to take my word, Brady is the most talented kid you will ever meet. Could have been a comedian or a pro surfer, but decided to take up music instead. After eight years of playing drums, taught himself guitar in one day. Has toured throughout Europe and Japan with Money Mark from the Beastie Boys. Somehow El Guapo convinced Brady to play at El Guapo’s 2008 Diez de Mayo party in Los Angeles this past May. They were awesome by the way.
