If you are looking for something cool to do in Dallas besides getting a brain freeze at the 7-Eleven nearest you, get yourself (and your kids, neighbors, and their friends) downtown and spend a day...or two, or three... at Designing Dreams. By the end of class you might have made yourself a purse, clutch, belt, or anything your heart desires! You'll get to learn how to cut, glue, sew, and decorate real leather. And if you can make your way around a sewing machine, ask the studio's owner, Arthur Porter, for a trial run at one of his many industrial sewing machines. The trip to this studio, on the south side of Lamar, will be one of the most fun you'll get to experience. Chanel, Fendi, and Gucci, eat your heart out! Even if you won't become the next great accessories designer I promise you'll never look at another belt or purse the same way ever again after this class!
