So tonight you feel like going home and being uncomfortable. Well, here's a good mix of movies that will make most people uneasy. A list of ten films to create discomfort and disturbance within the average mind. All recommended by me as I have viewed and enjoyed them all!

Feed

I would have to give this film hands down the award for most disturbing film I have ever seen. There is one scene in particular that made me want to turn it off right then and there. I have a solid stomach and a mind that can cope with a lot but this movie was even a little much for me. I am not sure if I will ever watch it again. I think it’s quite amazing enough that I watched it in the first place. But I must say if you think you can stomach it, give it a go. I dare you!

Happiness

To start this guild off we have quite a wonderful film about happiness. And isn’t happiness so subjective but no one really thinks about how one thing can cause happiness in some but harm in others. This film takes you into strange territories involving all sorts of bizarre people doing all kinds of unnerving things. I really enjoyed this film and I would recommend that anyone with good taste watch it. And again it is up to you to decide if you have good taste ;)

Kids

The picture that his film paints of average kids is quiet disturbing to me. I loved this film. It was thought provoking and very interesting. It deals with a lot of serious issues that effect people everyday but most often go without thought. I don’t ever remember being that kind of kid and I hope that if I ever meet kids like that I could have the right words or actions to make them see through different eyes.

Squid and the Whale

A closer look at what life can be like for a family when changes start to arise. I believe this film is a masterpiece. There are a few scenes in this film that are good for that typical uneasy feeling but through it all this film is an eye opener!

American History X

If you haven’t seen this film yet then you are most definitely missing out. It is such a deep and impacting story. Disturbing in it’s own way but very very important to watch and understand.

Gozu

This film is just one disturbing, shocking, and jaw dropping image and scene after another. I am not even sure I understood the overall message but it was really something else. The Japanese have a interesting way of making films so bizarre in our minds and it’s hard to comprehend from where I am at where they are coming from but it still interests me nonetheless.

Naked Lunch

Honestly what can you expect from the film adaptation of William S. Burroughs masterpiece Naked Lunch? Truly this film is magnificent in it’s own right. What a world old Bill must have lived in.

A Clockwork Orange

What feature film list would be complete without the awesome Stanley Kubrick. A Clockwork Orange was my favorite movie for a very long time. It seemed so real and for that reason it became all the more interesting and all the more disturbing. Kubrick doesn’t let down in this film for it is, as always very thought provoking.

Amusement

What made me most uneasy about this film was the storyline behind it all. It is an average slasher type horror flick but it has a little disturbed psychological spice that I think made it a little bit more interesting. I’d watch it again.

Blue Velvet

I am a huge David Lynch fan and for the delicate undertakings and introduction to his work I highly recommend Blue Velvet. He is full of bizarre tricks that keep you interesting and begging for more. He is truly one of my favorite directors. This film is excellent and doesn’t fall short of disturbance for the average audience.
