Can you see the melted chocolate inside?

Magnolia Bakery Inc

401 Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10014

Have one of their famous cupcakes. The line outside may be big, but it’s definetly worth waiting.

Yummy House

76 3rd Avenue 1, New York, NY 10003

Try the “general tso tofu”. It tastes nothing like tofu. In the words of someone I know: “It tastes like deliciousness.”

The Cornelia Street Cafe

It has been considered one of the 100 best jazz clubs in the world, but the food there is also worth mentioning. Everything in the menu sounds delicious.

Gnocchi with pesto sauce and sun dried tomatoes.

Lisbon

Casa dos Pastéis de Belém

84 Rua de Belém, Lisboa, 1300, Portugal

http://www.pasteisdebelem.pt/

This traditional portuguese dessert, pastel de belém, might be one of the best things you have ever tried. Definetly worth eating, and it’s close to some cool sights (Torre de Belém and others).

Cologne (Köln)

Bento Box

33, Ubierring 50678 Cologne – Germany
116, Breite st. 50667 Cologne – Germany
41, Neusser st. 50670 Cologne – Germany

http://www.bentobox.de/

I know I should be recommending a german restaurant, but this is a very good japanese place, and the prices aren’t that bad. I must say it was one of the best places I ate in Cologne.
They also have a restaurant in Munich.

London

Wagamama

1 tavistock street
covent garden
london
WC2E 7PG

http://www.wagamama.com/

If I could pick my favourite restaurant in the world, this would be it. They have many other locations in London and other places in Britain. Order the dumplings as entree and “chicken katsu curry” as a main dish. You can’t go wrong.

It’s half eaten, but it still looks good.

Rio de Janeiro

Nova Capela

96, Avenida Mem de Sá, Lapa

One of the best portuguese style food restaurants in Rio. Don’t forget to order the cod fish balls (bolinhos de bacalhau) and eat it with a lot of olive oil.

Bar do Mineiro

99, Rua Paschoal Carlos Magno, Santa Teresa

Every traveller should try feijoada during their stay in Brazil. The traditional dish, which consists of beans, is accompanied by farofa, couve and rice. The Bar do Mineiro’s feijoada is one of the best in the city, and the big portions can definetly be shared evethough the waiters may say the contrary. Trying it is a must.

Colher de Pau

90, Rua Rita Ludolf, Leblon

This dessert shop has an amazing brigadeiro. The brazilian chocolate sweet is made of condensed milk and chocolate powder.

The picture doesn’t look that good, but trust me, it’s worth trying it.

Hua Lian

450, Rua Gonçalves Crespo, Tijuca

You won’t find a lot of good chinese places in Rio, but this is an exception. Try the gyoza, it’s delicious! But don’t order a lot of food, the portions are big enough to share with someone else.

Cedro do Líbano

21, Rua Senhor dos Passos, Centro da Cidade

This Lebanese restaurant has been around for a very long time, and it’s known for having great food.

Rotisseria Sírio Libanesa

29, Largo do Machado – Galeria Condor, Largo do Machado

Another Middle-Eastern restaurant worth going to is this. It is common knowledge among cariocas that they have the best esfiha in the city.

Bar Vieira Souto

9, Praça da Cruz Vermelha

One of the most eaten dishes in Rio is rice, beans, steak and french fries. The Bar Vieira Souto has one of the best in the city.

Street Churros

Almost any corner

You’ll see a lot of carts on the street corners with a sign saying “churros”. Ask for the one with doce-de-leite filling. It’s delicious!

Annecy, France

Glacier des Alpes

16, Rue Perrière, Annecy

http://pagesperso-orange.fr/glacierdesalpes/HTML/page001.html

Annecy has a bunch of ice cream shops. I’m guessing they are all as good as this one. Stop and try an unusual flavour.
