It was Chelsee's 25th bithday. And since Chelsee is an awesome friend, she deserved an awesome birthday party. Throwing a party isn't too difficult as long as you remember a few simple things. These things are food, alcohol, presents, and cupcakes. All things readily available in Boston.

So, next time you're throwing a party for one of your fabulous friends, pick up this guide and hit up all these Boston hot party spots. Your friend will thank you. And you may even be offered a job as a professional party planner.

Sweet Cupcakes

Of course, a birthday party calls for one very important thing. CUPCAKES. Without cupcakes, your party won’t really be a party. Sweet has some of the most delicious cupcakes in Boston. Sara picked up 32 cupcakes in all kinds of flavors, and we spent the night talking about how amazing they tasted and how beautiful they looked.

Stop & Shop Supermarket

What’s a party without food? Um, the worst party ever? Of course, you could have your party catered, but that gets expensive and isn’t very thoughtful to your friend. So get cooking!

Stop and Shop has pretty much everything you need to make the party a culinary success. And I’m obsessed with their self check-out, especially setting it to “Espanol” and listening to all the foods I buy in Spanish.

Clery's Bar & Restaurant

We like to celebrate each other’s birthdays all weekend long. So we threw a house party for Chelsee one night and went out on the town the other.

Clery’s is the perfect bar for celebrating birthdays because it has a nice chill bar upstairs and a super fun dance floor downstairs.

Also, one of the bartenders makes an amazing “birthday cake” shot, which can get dangerous, but is a birthday party must!

If you’re going to be hanging out at a bar, you’re going to want to catch a cab home (No drinking and driving! Plus, getting a parking spot near Clery’s would be nearly impossible anyway).

Metro Cabs are all over Boston, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to catch one. Though you may have to leave the bar a bit before the 2 a.m. close, so you can beat everyone else to the empty cabs.

The Cambridgeside Galleria is the perfect place to go when looking for a birthday present because there are SO many stores. With 3 floors of fantastic shopping, I could literally spend all day in this mall. Plus, there’s a Cheesecake Factory, so you really can’t ask for much more.

Cambridgeside is easy to get to- just take the Green Line to Lechemere. And let the shopping begin!

Macys

Though we could have spent all day and night at the Cambridgeside Galleria, Katie and I luckily found Chelsee and gift right away.

Macy’s has pretty much anything you could ask for, including an amazing selection of handbags and purses. Including many on sale for great prices.

Copley Flair has all your last minute gift ideas. You can get everything from fun little joke-type gifts to really nice Vera Bradley bags at Copley Flair. They also have a huge selection of cards and gift-wrap. Copley Flair is the perfect last-stop party planning shop.

Chuck E Cheese's

If you don’t really consider yourself a party planner, that’s OK too. There’s always Chuck E. Cheese. He knows how to throw an awesome party, complete with arcade games, rides, mazes, and ball pools. Just make sure none of your guest get lost in the maze because they’re scared to go down the slide into the ball pit (it can happen. And did to me. Once).

A Chuck E. Cheese party also includes pizza, soft drinks, and a cake. Woot!
