Perhaps the greatest advent of our modern era is the mixtape. A single piece of paraphernalia that express so much longing, or expression, or just really is nice to listen to. Making a mixtape was made most popular to our generation by the film High Fidelity and now carries the hipster cred of an 8. In every person, there is a list of song waiting to be organized. This calls to mind the first mixtape I ever received from my 8th grade summer camp boyfriend who I never even kissed. I distinctly remember clips of commercials, “Shorty Swing My Way” and that NIN songs that says I want to F-you like an animal. Yeah. That was back when I still fell for bad boys.
