Whether you love it or hate it, the 16th Street Mall in Denver is hard to avoid when you are running around downtown. But, if you plan a little and take a closer look, it's really pretty cool and you shouldn't leave all the fun for the tourists.

That's Entertainment

Year round entertainment is easy to find at the 16th Street Mall. Whether you want to sit back and watch or get involved, there is a little something for everyone.

Paramount Theatre the

1631 Glenarm Pl, Denver, CO 80202

This is one of my favorite places to catch a live show. Boasting great views, good sound and even better headliners, I am always more than happy to see a show here. Ray LaMontagne and Iron and Wine? Come on! Bring it.

Lucky Strike Lanes

500 16th St Ste 340, Denver, CO 80202

How fun is bowling? At Lucky Strike, it’s not just the game, but the atmosphere too. The music. The lights. The modern sofas in soft leather and suede. The sound of the ball hitting the pins. It all makes for a truly unique activity. With a fully stocked bar and grill sending out burgers and more, this bowling alley is a little more shi-shi than shabby!

Jazz At Jacks

1553 Platte St Ste 202, Denver, CO 80202

Want to snap your fingers to some smooth tunes? This joint always has a top notch act playing live jazz music that brings out the sax player in all of us.

Dixons Downtown Grill

1610 16th St, Denver, CO 80202

Can’t decide what cuisine you want? Dixon’s is great because it offers up a little of everything. A big menu is sure to please the whole crowd and when the weather is nice, sit out on the patio.

Biker Jim's Gourmet Hotdog Stand

16TH ST & ARAPAHOE ST DENVER, CO 80202

If there is one thing you will have no trouble finding, it’s a hot dog stand on 16th St. But be sure to seek out Biker Jim’s if you want something that will really make you question your cooking skills at home. This cart sells out of the ordinary hotdogs made of reindeer, elk, brat, and Louisiana hot to name a few, and they are out of this world!

'Tis the Season

The 16th Street Mall is one of my favorite places to walk around and catch the Holiday lights. Beautiful displays line the street, so bundle up and see the sights. Take a look at the different ways you can catch the views.

16th Street Free Mall Ride

16TH ST DENVER, CO 80202

How many places do you know of that offer free public transportation? Well, look no further. Stop at any one of the numerous shuttle stops and hop on board when the bus comes your way. Each stop is announced before you get off, and you can ride all the way up and back for zero dollars. This is a good thing, people. Save your money for when you get off.

Ray LaMontagne at the Paramount.

I love you Ray. I love you long time.

For a truly unique night of live entertainment, Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret is really special. Lannie headlines her own cabaret show but if you miss that, have no fear. A Burlesque troop of sexy ladies will perform at least once a week and interactive nights with spelling bees helps keep your noggin sharp, even if you are having a cocktail.

United Artists Denver Pavillions 15

500 16th St Ste 310, Denver, CO 80202

Located at the top floor of what is called the Denver Pavillions, this theatre has tons of screens and is always showing the latest moives. Grab your popcorn and go see a show.

Good Eats

Are you hungry yet? It’s hard to spend a day anywhere without working up an appetite, much less the 16th Street Mall.

Sonoda's

1620 Market St, Denver, CO 80202

This location of Sonoda’s is right at the corner of 16th and Market. For serious sushi, look no further. Daily specials are always a treat, but you’ll always find your regular favorites as well. Ask for a seat at the sushi bar and watch these ‘artists’ do their thing.

Rialto Cafe

934 16th St, Denver, CO 80202

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and a happenin’ happy hour, the Rialto is a great spot to stop for upscale American Cuisine. I’m a big fan of the Mussels and Roasted Chicken.

Illegal Pete's

1530 16 St 101, Denver, CO 80202

I’ve never been in a state that loved burritos more than Colorado. This Colorado staple serves ’em big and hot and made to order. Order from the house specials or design your own, but bring an empty stomach…becuase these guys are big.
