Television Shows You Actually Wish They'd Remake
It seems that whenever Hollywood begins to run out of ideas they decide to remake a TV show (see 90210, Knight Rider). And since reviews of these shows have been pretty mixed, I'm curious what shows you guys think deserve to be remade.
American High
This show aired on PBS in 2001. It’s a documentary series that follows the lives of 14 high schoolers living in Highland Park, Illinois. This show was awesome because it really showed what it’s like to be in high school. And unlike the boozing, promiscuous teens of The OC, Gossip Girl, and new 90210, the kids on American High don’t need sensational story lines to make them fascinating to watch.
My So-called Life
Was this show as good as I thought it was back then? I’d really like to see another episode and decide whether that was just my little kid mind that made it so amazing or if it really was a good show?
VR5
This show was on FOX back in 1995. And like most good shows out there, it got cancelled. And it was a real shame because this sci-fi show was totally ahead of it time (it was sort of like a much, much better of Fringe). Granted, the technological aspects of the show would have to SERIOUSLY updated if they brought it back (virtual reality just doesn’t sound as cool as it did in 1995), but I think it would still make good TV.
Wonderfalls
I was kinda upset when this show got cancelled. But I guess America doesn’t identify with lost 20-somethings like I do. I admit the story of an Ivy League grad turned souvenir store cashier who can talk to inanimate objects is a little weird, but the show was brilliant just the same (trust me).
It was so bad it was good! No wait, it was just bad. But I still liked it. The acting is terrible, the story lines superficial. But you know that, acting today is TOO good. Bring back the crap.
