For the regular sushi addicts out there, here are some places that are worth a try. We all know that Sushi Den is the bomb, but when you eat it at least once a week, the budget comes into play. Here are some of my other favorites.

Namiko’s is by far my favorite sushi in Colorado. If you love sushi you won’t be swayed by the location. This place rocks!!!

Namiko’s is by far my favorite sushi in Colorado. They are located in Arvada in a strip mall in Arvada near 52nd and Wadsworth. They are family owned and have been open for 17 years. The owners and staff know their sushi and offer some of the best and friendliest service in town. This is the freshest fish in town! They have the best spicy sauce (in my opinion). The prices are fair (but not inexpensive). I know regulars that have been going there for years and bypass some of the fancier places for the freshest fish in town at Namiko’s. Maybe someday you Sushi Den lovers will try this gem!

Fancy Shmancy Places

These are the “top of the top” sushi restaurants. Very worth it once in a while as the food, service, ingredients, and fish are the best!

Sushi Den is known to be the best sushi in Denver. It is good, but for the sushi addict, one cannot eat there every week.

Junz has home made fresh wasabi. Yes, this isn’t made from a powder or a paste. This is the real stuff! They are located in Parker. Yes, this is off the beaten path, but worth the trip if you have friends that live in this Kansas-like suburb.

Off the beaten path

The sushi restaurants here are all extremely good, but are out of the way for the folks afraid to get out of the city.

This is definately worth it and is located near Quincy and Wadsworth in Littleton. The owners are very serious about their sushi. They have some unique rolls and also have a Japanese grill for those of you that want a good traditional habachi.

This Fontana is located near the Southwest Plaza shopping center. This is Fontana is a different owner than the one on Alameda in Denver Their prices are reasonable and the quality is very good.

My husband and I go to Sonoda’s on 6th and Broadway most often because they have a point card that rewards you with a point for each 1$ spent. On Monday’s is double points. So, we go there for happy hour on Mondays to rack up these points. We usually save 20%. That’s a savings! And, since we go there a lot, we ’ve gotten to know the chefs and wait staff. The key is to tip well and go often. They treat us very well!

Other noteworthy places

What, happy hour sushi all day on Sundays? Yes! Good quality sushi and a nice atmosphere in Cherry Creek.

Way to go for including Namiko’s. The competition between Denver sushi joints to see who can be most pretentious and assign the most adjectives to a sushi roll is tiresome. Namiko’s is a breath of fresh air in the metro sushi scene.
