The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is the Rocky Mountain region's most expansive museum dedicated to the the natural phenomena that exists in Colorado and the world around us. From minerals and gems to wildlife dioramas to space exploration, the museum has abundant opportunities for families to learn and explore. Children should not miss the "Discovery Zone", which has scientific presentations and story times along with hands-on exhibits. Located on the eastern edge of City Park south of the Denver Zoo, the museum contains a planetarium, IMAX theater, extensive gift shop and restaurant.

Built in the 1880s, the red sandstone Molly Brown House Museum is dedicated to portraying the life and times of one of the few survivors of the RMS Titanic disaster, Margaret Tobin Brown, more commonly known as simply Molly. The museum has collected and painstakingly restored many of the items that Molly owned, and many items owned by the upper class during this time period. It is located in the Capital Hill neighborhood just east of the State Capitol.

Completed in 1982, the 16th Street Mall is a shopping, dining and transportation hub covering more than a mile. The mall can be accessed by a variety of transportation including walking, free shuttle bus, bike taxis and horse drawn carriages but cars are only allowed on the side streets and not on 16th Street. Situated between Tremont and Glenarm Streets along the mall, the Denver Pavilions is a large complex that includes restaurants, stores, bowling and a movie theater. With its free WiFi and plenty of benches for people watching, the mall brings out a diverse population from students to business people to street performers. The mall is a few blocks from the Colorado Convention Center and Coors Field in downtown Denver.

Founded in 1863, The United States Mint at Denver processes all the coins made with the mark "D", stores gold and silver, and produces commemorative coins authorized by the United States government. Housed in a stoic Italian Renaissance style building, the mint can produce 50 million coins a day when operating at full capacity. Tours walk visitors through the history of the mint and shows the production process from a viewing gallery. The Colorado branch of the Mint is located downtown, west of Civic Center Park.

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts contains ten separate performance spaces that total nearly 10,000 seats combined. The Boettcher Concert Hall was America's first theater-in-the-round and is home to the Colorado Symphony Orchestra while the recently renovated Ellie Caulkins Opera House is home to Opera Colorado and the Colorado Ballet. In addition, the complex showcases plays, concerts and musicals in the diverse space. The complex is located downtown, north of the Colorado Convention Center and contains several eating establishments.

Forney, a local business man who made his fortune in the soldering and welding industry, the Forney Museum of Transportation has over 500 exhibits focusing on wheeled transportation from bicycles to cars to trains. Some of the items on display include Ameilia Earhart's "Gold Bug" Kissel and the Big Boy steam locomotive. Interspersed throughout the museum are wax figures dressed in antique clothing collected over the years by Forney's wife. Situated in the industrial and manufacturing area of Denver, the museum is across the street from the Denver Coliseum.

With a 1/2-mile alpine slide ride, thrilling zip line, a go kart track, 36-hole miniature golf course, fishing and more, the area has plenty of activities for its guests to take part in. Its 5-inch scale Heritage Rio Golden Train lets guests take a scenic ride about the area, and there are plenty of shopping and dining possibilities as well. Serving as a temporary residence for workers and students who stayed in Golden from the structure's completion in 1867 until its closing in 1971, the Astor House Museum has been restored to honor and celebrate the life and times of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Recognized for its historical value, the residence features a handful of revolving exhibits that explore the history and residents of Golden, as well as decorated rooms and areas that celebrate the Victorian Era. The museum is located downtown, within walking distance of Clear Creek History Park.
