Stephanie & Christian Nielson: Turning Tragedy into Hope
What happens when tragedy strikes? When you, someone you love, or even someone you don't even know is hit hard by something unexpected and life-changing and goes through immeasurable suffering? You pray and you do what you can to help. And, at the very least, take away a whole new appreciation for life and how you live it.
On Saturday August 16, 2008, blogger Stephanie Nielson and her husband Christian were involved in a horrific plane crash. The pilot was killed, and both Stephanie and Christian are in critical condition and are in chemically-induced comas. Stephanie has burns covering 80% of her body.
They have four young children.
…for a peek into who Stephanie is and what she meant to so many people. During her absence, her sister will be posting updates to her blog; but take a moment to browse through Stephanie’s archives to see the love she has for life and, most of all, her family.
…for updates on their recovery progress and how family and friends are rallying around to help.
Want to help?
Stephanie and Christian’s recovery will be costly (well into the millions), so obviously monetary donations are welcome. But above all, your prayers are needed.
And if their story simply forces you to step back and look at your life in a whole new light, that’s donation enough.
…with proceeds going to the Nielson recovery fund. Not only are there some wonderful items for auction, but it is simply amazing and inspiring to see the online community coming together for incredible good.
Here you’ll find all things related to Stephanie and Christian’s recovery and more ways to directly make a donation and help.
