Shopping and Shipping in Anchorage

A convenient midtown location with the requisite attached cafe/espresso bar, a good selection of Alaskana and wifi. A good place to take a little break from all the hectic shopping, packing and shipping.

Bernie’s Pharmacy does a good job handling mail-out prescriptions. They are located on the second floor or a medical office building at this location. Give them a call (907) 562-2138 and find out how to get your prescriptions sent in to them and to set up payment/insurance info.

This is the New Sagaya City Market, a great spot for Asian groceries and terrific seafood.

Everts is an air freight operator. They ship out the things you buy that are too heavy to mail – like ATVs and snowgos, or odd-shaped lots that the post office doesn’t want to deal with. They are not open to accept freight on Sundays.

Like Costco, Sam’s Club locations are across town from one another. This store is over on the north side of town.

Located out near the Dimond mall, this store offers one-stop shopping for a great variety of outdoor-related products.

Close by REI, Title Wave is Anchorage’s best bookstore, selling new and used books, music, etc. in a huge store. You can now shop them online and I like to box up my used books and mail them in so I have credit waiting on my next trip to town. They have now also opened up a second location downtown. There are several other booksellers in town, but Title Wave definitely has the best selection of Alaskana.

Located relatively central to a lot of the shopping locations, this U-Haul center sells all sizes of boxes, tape, tape guns, labels, etc.

This is one of two Wal-Marts in Anchorage. This one is conveniently located in midtown, while the other store out by the Dimond Mall has a Bush Order/Shipping department.

There are two Wal-Marts in Anchorage, one in midtown and this one out by the Dimond Mall. The advantage to using this one is that they have a Bush Order department, including a Bush Order Pharmacy.
