Send Me Flowers in Los Angeles
Most people would never really know what their flowers meant if they received them in the mail, they'd just assume it was a nice gesture. Which it is. Wouldn't be even better if the flowers you sent had a little bit of meaning behind them? Sure we all know that the red roses stand as a symbol for love and romance, and yellow roses for friendship....but what if you wanted to send a a "thank you" or a "congratulations." Maybe you don't want to send roses at all....here is some clarification behind flowers and their meanings so the next time you send someone a bouquet it can be extra special ;)
If you want to say "Thank you"
The art of a “Thank you” note is very important. It was one of the very first lessons my parents taught me when meeting new people, having an interview, receiving gifts, etc was always, ALWAYS send a thank you note, even if it’s just a few words it lets people know that you appreciated whatever it is that they did for you. Expressing gratitude is one of the most important things, I think, we can do as people. Maybe whoever you’re thanking deserves something a little extra a bouquet of flowers perhaps?? If so try these:
Hydrangea
Agrimony
Bell Flower (small white)
If you want to say "I LOVE YOU IN SECRET"
Woa, totally different than saying, “I love you.” Saying “I love you in secret” is sort of like saying…..“Let’s have an affair.” Though this would be somewhat of a roundabout way of telling someone, or NOT telling someone that you love them, some people are into that cryptic stuff and this may totally get them to love you back. Who knows, it’s worth a shot….they may just think you sent a nice bouquet. Send:
Gardenia
Marvel-Of-Peru
Rose, Peach
Spider Flower, which techincally means “elope with me”
REALLY? You’re saying I’m sorry with a carnation?? Really.
If you want to say "GOOD LUCK"
Receiving a bouquet of “good luck” flowers is a type of bouquet I’m pretty familiar with, anytime I had a show or an opening of a new play that I was in; a performance, an audition that was very important my Mother or a family member made sure to send flowers to let me know they wanted me to “break a leg.” Though, breaking a leg was never a term that I really liked….I happen to like my legs and would like both of them to be unbroken. Instead of saying “break a leg” how about saying GOOD LUCK like this:
Clover, Four leafed
Goldenrod
Heather, Pink
Pear Blossom
Sweet Basil
Yellow roses are gorgeous
BE STRONG!!!
Sometimes we all need a little bit of a reminder that we are indeed tough and resilient human beings, or MAYBE you just want to commend your friend for being a strong person so you want to send along flowers that mean; strength, bravery, or courage.
Cactus
Edelweiss
Thyme
Gladiolus
Fennel
Though a primrose isn’t as outwardly romantic as a bouquet of huge red roses, it’s delicate and expresses love in a sweet way.
"WILL YOU DANCE WITH ME?"
The art of throwing a ball or attending “a dance” is somewhat lost, though if you do find yourself at a place where dancing is taking place (not a club) then you could offer up a Viscaria. Sounds like a scary rash, but it’s actually a beautiful flower.
Flower Songs:
- The Rose- Bette Midler
- Four Leaf Clover- Abra Moore
- Gardenia- Mandy Moore
- Edelweiss- Sound of Music
- Bring me flowers- Hope
- Bed of Roses- Bon Jovi
- Kiss from a Rose- Seal
- Marigold- Nirvana
- Black Roses Red- Alana Grace

I like to fuse beautiful things together, so why not flwoers and food? How about Chocolate Dipped Lavender cookies???? mmm.
Hydrangea’s are my favvvvooorite :)
If you want to say "I'm sorry"
OH GAAAAAHH. If you resort to sending flowers, if you have yet to try the face to face way of apologizing, then I don’t really know if they apology will be accepted. FIRST, try apologizing in person, for whatever you did. Not over text, not over email. Then, if that doesn’t work and you’re really begging…whether you need to say I’m sorry or forgive me you could try sending these (and maybe a bottle of wine):
Carnation (striped)….um, my personal opinion: a carnation isn’t going to cut it.
Hyacinth ( purple)
I’ve always wanted a four leaf clover….still haven’t found one, wish me luck.
Flowers for Friends
A lot of people think of sending flowers as a romantic thing, or a nice thing to do if someone is in the hospital OR it’s Mother’s Day and you aren’t able to take her to brunch. Though, flowers for friends and to express how much you love their friendship is a pretty cool and underrated gesture. I’ve sent flowers to friends on Valentines day when we had no lover to love, but there doesn’t need to be a special occasion to brighten up a friends day.
Rose, Pale
Rose, Yellow
Periwinkle, Blue
Ivy
Iris
Geranium, Oak-leaf
Abor Vitae, um what?
Edelweiss, edelweissssssssss
NOW, we can be romantic
The most common use of flowers is to profess your LOVE for someone. People send flowers for anniversaries, dates, to say “thanks for last night….let’s do it again tonight….”, or you’re my one true love, blah blah blah. The obvious choice is to send a huge bouquet of red roses, which is romantic and lusty yes….but it’s better to send a bouquet of flowers that make it look like you much some effort into your bouquet making decisions:
Gloxinia- meaning love at first sight :)
Heliotrope, really fun to say
Aster
Chrysanthemum, Red
Daffodil
Primrose
Orange Blossom
A Viscaria could get you a partner on the dance floor.
Whenever you think of Poinsetta’s or you start seeing them around is most definitely at Christmas time, the reason? Poinsetta’s technically mean: “Be of Good Cheer” and what time is more cheerful that holly jolly Christmas?!
Though I’ve never beena huge fan of Mandy Moore, Gardenia is a song that proves her fame worthy.
If you're sending Begonia's
Keep in mind that is means: “Beware! I am fanciful!”
