Chocolate Box

Unsure about what kind of sweet treat you’re in the mood for? Check out the Chocolate Box for some ideas and inspiration. From chocolate to pastries and gelato, Chocolate Box is your place to go.

I’d personally recommend avoiding the Chocolate Box on weekends, as it’s one block from Pike Place Market and typically becomes infested with tourists.

The Confectionery

Are you more interested in fulfilling your sweet tooth craving with traditional candies? Take yourself to The Confectionery located in U-Village. This quaint little shop is chalk full of every conceivable candy you can think of. No matter the age, everyone who sets foot in this store will feel like they’re a “kid in a candy store.”

Cupcake Royale

The rise of the cupcake obsession has been sweeping Seattle for a few years now thanks to the introduction of Cupcake Royale. Now open at 4 locations across the city (Ballard, Capital Hill, Madrona, and West Seattle), getting your sugary fix has never been easier. Each month Cupcake Royale features a seasonal cupcake (such as Rasberry Lemonade) made with local ingredients. Take it from me, these cupcakes are heavenly!

Old School Frozen Custard

Old School Frozen Custard is still considerably my favorite ice cream shop in the city. With an old school vibe and a simple menu of chocolate, vanilla, and the daily special, Old School Frozen Custard has instead focused on perfecting the art of the Sundae. Choose from a variety of toppings to create your creamy concoction or decide between one of the many sundaes on the chalk board. Needless to say, it’s impossible to leave there unhappy.

Cow Chip Cookies

If you’re like me, cookies are one of the best delectable treats around. Thanks to Cow Chip Cookie I never have to worry about finding the perfect chocolate chip concoction. Not to mention, this always gives me a good excuse to venture through the city toward Pioneer Square.

Fran's Chocolates

Seattle might be recognized for Starbuck’s and Microsoft but the popularity of Fran’s Chocolates is beginning to sweep the nation. Thanks to President Obama’s obsession with Fran’s salted caramels, people have been flocking from near and far to experience what the President can’t seemingly live without. Trust me though, Obama is on to something and I can see why he’s slightly obsessed.

Molly Moon's

For the yuppie ice cream lover, Molly Moon’s is certainly the place to go. The concoctions are crafty and the lines are long, but Molly Moon’s is certainly an ice cream shop worth the wait. With rotating and creative flavors (Salted Caramel, Tamarind Orange, Strawberry Basil), Molly Moon’s will always keep you coming back for more!

A little warning: the flavors are INCREDIBLY rich, so unless you’re feeling like a trooper I’d recommend having just one scoop at a time.
