Frank Dux
The film “Blood Sport” was modeled after the memoirs of Frank Dux. Dux has been involved in multiple losing lawsuits where he has tried to get more money related to property rights. Discrepancies in particular details of his life stories and credentials have also circulated around his claims.
He had 2 Ninjitsu academies in the 90’s. One of them was in the Seattle area but I have had some trouble confirming exactly where and if there are remnants and off shoots of his form of Ninjitsu.

Frank Dux’s site has a listing for this dojo but the site doesn’t look up to date. Michael Cairns is listed as the Shihan and it states that he is “Dux Ninjitsu Certified”. The location is a little bit outside of the city but, If you go there and it doesn’t look like a training facility but appears to be something along the lines of a Children’s Hospital Thriftstore, that may be because it doesn’t exist anymore. My suggestion, however, would be to start climbing the walls and pulling off some flying kicks. If they are in fact Ninjas, they may be employing some illusion tactics.

I found this doing a web search on Michael Cairns. He is also a very good kickboxing/full contact karate instructor. He is one of the pioneers of kickboxing/muay thai in WA state and I had the pleasure of briefly training with him. I never did the dux ryu and most people that did it were wannabe ninja that watched too much anime. I probably would have trained in that too if it weren’t for the wannabe ninja students. I believe Zura Goodpastor is still teaching near that address or around Burien.but he is garbage.
