You scream, I scream, we all scream for Ice Cream!
With the weather warming up and a city unprepared for such record heat (70 in May? Unheard of!), Seattleites are having to get creative when it comes to cooling off (Air conditioning, whats that?). Since the Emerald Dandy has quite the sweet tooth, he's taken the liberty of finding some of Seattle's finest tastiest treats to cool you off in the midst of the summer months. Enjoy!
Molly Moon's Ice Cream
Now providing 2 locations to serve you in Seattle (Wallingford and recently opened on Capital Hill), Molly Moon’s is what I consider to be Seattle’s “yuppy,” ice creamery.
With flavors such as Mandarin Chocolate, Jasmine Green Tea, Salted Caramel, and Balsamic Strawberry, Molly Moon’s always keeps guests intrigued with a revolving menu featuring homemade and seasonal ingredients.
Beware, Molly Moon’s always attracts a line out the door (as seen above). Though the line seems attrocious, the wait isn’t nearly so bad, especially with the delectable treat awaiting you at the end.
XXX Rootbeer
If you’re as big of a fan of Milkshakes and Rootbeer Floats, then you too will be more than willing to drive out to Issaquah to enjoy the offerings at XXX Rootbeer (just right off of I-90).
With a variety of flavors (and I mean variety) and around $5 each (and truly large enough to feed a small village), you’ll most certainly leave satisfied. My personal favorite: Chocolate Orange.
Heck, while you’re there you might as well enjoy some onion rings on the side. You’d be silly not too!

Icon Grill Sundae
So maybe you’re looking for a Sundae with a little side of class? Icon Grill has the answer you’re looking for.
Take a trip to the grill for this divine treat and you’ll be asking the server to wheel you out onto the street. Enough for a small group of friends, this sundae comes with all the fixings and accoutrements to properly decorate your sundae. The best part: The theatrics involved with pouring the hot fudge all over the sundae.

Cool off with these tasty treats...
Old School Frozen Custard
Newly opened on Capital Hill, Old School Frozen Custard has been taking the city by storm. Having originated as a Coney Island Carnival Treat, the creamy and flavorful delicacy has finally made it’s way to Seattle for our enjoyment.
Chocolate and Vanilla are always on stock with an additional flavor of the day which changes daily. Check the website to see what’s in store, you don’t want to miss out!

Dick's Drive-In
Okay, so maybe you’re in the mood for a mikshake but don’t want to (or can’t) drive out to the ‘Quah. Have no fear, Dick’s provides us with a delectable shake at just under $2!
You might also enjoy Dick’s during the late night after a long night of drinking. At that point nothing sounds more appealing than a Deluxe with fries, and a chocolate shake to top it all off.
Bubble Tea
Forget about smoothies: everyone’s been there and done that. Instead, opt for a Bubble Tea at my personal favorite, WOW Bubble Tea.
Known for their frozen Bubble Tea’s, they mix and match a variety of flavors with their signature tapioca pearls to create your own personalized goodness! I’ve been there so much, my personal drink has been nicknamed the Starburst. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.
Disclaimer: If you’ve never tried Bubble Tea – be forewarned! The tapioca pearls are a little disturbing at first, but oh so delicious!
