Biggest, Largest, & Most Gluttonous Foods in Seattle
I went on a hunt to find the biggest food in Seattle despite my friend/bandmate Corey's claims that, "Seattle is not a city of excess". Compared to many large cities, he's right but I tried anyway. In the suburbs and surrounding cities there are giant Frisbee sized hamburgers and full-sized glazed zebra satays or whatever they serve out there, but I wanted to limit my search to Seattle alone. Here's what I was able to find within the city limits
Gorditos- Burrito Grande
I can’t believe that, when I was 15, I actually used to house this thing by myself. Now I usually split about half of it with my girlfriend and then take the other half home for later. The width alone is the length of a regular burrito and it only costs about $8.50.
Every time that I go to Gorditos and order the Burrito Grande, I expect it to be smaller than I remembered but it never is. In fact, I’m always convinced that it’s gotten larger because it is so unnecessarily huge.
The Grande is the full length of my forearm from fist to elbow accept that it is easily twice the width. If it doesn’t look that large to you it may be due to that glass of of water next to me which is also gigantic.
If you’re going to go for it, make sure you are equipped with the necessary information
Don’t over do it; most of the food is “family-sized” and is supposed to be shared with at least one other person.

Beth's Cafe- 12 Egg Omelette
Notice that this omelette is sitting on a small pizza tray. It comes with bottomless hash browns and will take you out for the rest of the day.

The RAM doesn’t have a 6 pound burger or anything but they do have a burger called “BIG DAWG”. Being near the University of Washington, the name is a tribute to the Husky’s mascot, but in other cities they call this burger “Extreme Stadium”.
This beast weighs one pound and comes with 3 bacon strips, 2 Cheddar slices, sautéed mushroom, lettuce and mayonnaise for 13.99.
Currently, the only place to buy the gigantic salmon sausage.

The Ballroom- 28" Pizza
The Ballroom in Fremont is, more or less, a sports bar. They serve really large pizza slices to order but, if you want to order a whole, it gets even bigger. The pizzas are 28 inches so be prepared to have people ask you if you are “going to eat that whole thing”, even if you don’t know them.
Cheap food, healthy, and delicious.

This locally famous picture, featured at the counter of Gorditos “Healthy Mexican Restaurant”, was taken by Joshua Trujillo for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and is a side by side comparison of the Burrito Grande and an 11 week old infant. Anything ceases to be healthy at a certain point.
Buca Di Beppo- Giant Meatballs
Buca Di Beppo has large portions anyway, because of their focus on family dining and on having everyone split their large entrees. My listing of their Spaghetti with meatballs isn’t due to the large family size portion of the imported Italian pasta but rather because of the size of the meatballs that top the platter. These monsters weigh 1/2 lb each.

Wedgewood Broiler- 72 oz Steak
This 72 oz steak comes with soup, fries, a salad and sherbert, all of which must be completely consumed in one hours time to get the meal for free and for return of the $75 desposit.

They brew their own beer and the “pints” are actually 18 ounces.
Salmon Sausage- Qwest Field
This two foot sausage is to be served on a baguette with basil cream cheese, capers, and grilled red onions during Seahawks home games. Uli’s Famous Sausage in Pike Place Market was contracted to create the sausage which will cost $28 and is said to feed up to 4 people.
