Located at the tip of Point Loma and dedicated to Juan Cabrillo, the first European to set foot on the west coast. You can view San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean from here. On the drive out to the Monument, you will drive through Fort Rosecrans and the National Cemetary. My Dad and Janie’s folks are buried here. On a clear day it is worth the trip.

This is one of the best, if not the best place to go in San Diego for fresh seafood. It is VERY casual, just move up to the counter, order, find a table, and enjoy. Janie and I like the calamari sandwiches.

This is one of our favorite resturants. We go there at least once a year. If you like SoufflĂ©, order it when you order your main course as it takes about 30 minutes to prepare…and it is excellent.

I loved this guide. My Father in Law, owned a condo at the Coronado Shores, for many, many years. We absolutely love San Diego, and are heading back, with our entire family, to celebrate my 60th birthday, which is November 20th. It happens that the Eagles play San Diego on the 15th (we are from Bucks County, Pa. and are Eagles fans), so we are going to the game, and I will spend some time at the convention. Is the Corvette Diner still around? That was always a really fun place, especially with kids.
