Gee Your Salad Looks Delicious!
As I sat eating my lunch time salad I began to contemplate just how darn GOOD it tasted. (Odd coming from a gal who eats cheese steaks, hot wings, and pizza all in one day.) So tell me. What do YOU put on YOUR salad?
Mushrooms
I almost added mushrooms twice as they are my VERY FAVORITE salad topping!
Balsamic Salad Dressing
My grocery store salad bar has a creamy balsamic. It’s delish!
Ok, so I couldnt resist adding another of my faves: romaine and spinach (again) with feta, kalamata olives, grape tomatoes and and ken’s greek vinaigrette… and yes, if I am blessed to have pine nuts, or have some leftover grilled chicken, I will add those too… wow, ethwiny, you are making me hungry!!!
Nasturtium flowers!
Martha told me they were edible and delicious, and they are! They taste nutty. Yum. I’m also a fan of goat cheese+walnuts+dried cranberries on salads.
Bleu Cheese
Coming in at #2 is Bleu Cheese. YUM!
The salad I lived on last summer (and helped me lose weight, I might add) was romaine, spinach, bacon, cranberries, blue cheese, almonds and enough light ranch dressing just to coat the lettuce…. LIVED on it! YUM!!!
Croutons
Probably not the most sophisticated salad topping, but I just love me some croutons.

Flax Seeds
I’ve recently become obsessed with flax seeds! They’re so healthy for the heart and when you toss a handful in a salad, they add a nice little crunch! They’re great in yogurt and smoothies too. YUM.

Cheese
Is this technically a salad? There’s a lack of green leafy things, but it’s an alternative to Caprese Salad where I mix together tomatoes, mozzarella, balsamic and pesto. So good.
