River Rock Tap House offers over 40 tap beers, it plans to expand to 100, with 80% dedicated to California and Oregon craft brews. Two restaurateurs with a love of fine beer and coffee opened the alehouse in Midtown with a “pub fare” menu. Tex Mex Bar and Grill owner Mike Keolanui and best friend Anthony Priley, replaced Keolanui's restaurant at 2326 J St. with the joint venture, River Rock Tap House. The Sacramento restaurant aims to pair food to the craft beers - people will be surprised at how well beer goes on the palate with the menu items. Prices range from $5 a pint and up, menu items $7 and up. The exhaustive beer menu may be overwhelming, but the staff will happily bring a taste of any beer on the list to help guests make a decision. River Rock Tap House is a casual, pub house, offering catering, take out, as well as outdoor seating. There is street parking and a parking lot for easy access. It is opened Monday through Friday 3pm-12am, and Saturday and Sunday 11am-12am. River Rock Tap house emphasizes local craft beer and the little things - setting a high standard for hospitality and fun dining in Sacramento.
