Random Adventures planned for 2009
So during the span of 2008 many things were discovered that I want to do in 2009. I like to get away from the traditional vacations and add in some crazy random stuff. Here is my list so far of crazy random things to do in '09. Got any crazy ideas?
Punkin' Chunkin'
Watching too much discovery channel, I saw a special on this and now I really want to go. It’s in DE which is an easy roadtrip and it’s in November so it’s nice and chilly but what could be cooler than drinking beer and demolishing pumpkins?
Pierogi Fest
With a name like Pierogi Fest, how could it be bad? Somewhere in Whiting, Indiana someone had a really good idea. Why not celebrate this good stuff!
World's Largest Pinata
Come on, you’ve seen the commericials. I know they smashed it already but there has to be someone out to break this record, and I want to be there when they do.
World Beer Cup
I’m a miller lite girl and this symbol has been on all of my beers. Who wouldn’t want to go to something that’s called a World Beer Cup?
Double Decker Pizza
I grew up outside of Philly and my favorite thing there were Double Decker Pizza Inside Outs. They are like a calzone but deep fried! It was awesome, I was just back in Ridley Park and did not get a chance to get one but now I’m craving an Inside out so I think it should be added to the random field trip list
Red Bull FlugTag (flew-t-ah-g)
I stumbled across this a few years ago in Baltimore and it’s awesome! People make these big floats, do silly skits, then push everything off a cliff to see if it can fly. Maybe it was growing up with years of Mummers that drew me to this. But it is fun to watch.
The Philadelphia Zoo
Jilly said she wanted to ride an elephant which reminded me of all the times when I was younger and would go to the Philly Zoo. I haven’t been back in AGES and I just saw they are celebrating their 150th anniversary so what a better reason to take a trip to the zoo.
Taste of Chicago
Last year when I vistited Jilly I just happened to be there for the wonderful world that is the Taste of Chicago. So Much Good Food! We were there every day! No question to go back!
An Expedition to Find Bigfoot...
…because I believe!
They happen across the US and in Canada. (Pennsylvania is scheduled for October!)

Great American Beer Festival
For a beer adventure that is a little more interesting than one sponsored by Miller (if you like microbrews anyhow), check out the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, CO. It will be September 24-26 in 2009 so save the date!
