Powell Valley Resort and Marine

Norris Dam State Park provides visitors with the option of staying overnight in cabins or in a campground, the best way to be ready for the excellent morning and evening fishing on Norris Lake. A region occupied for centuries, historical structures at the park date back to a late-18th century gristmill and also include a threshing mill; the Lenoir Museum houses antique items such as oil lamps and a barrel organ. The park serves as the starting point for a number of trails through heavily wooded hills, as well as sporting fields and a swimming pool open during the summer. It is just outside of Lake City, 25 miles northwest of Knoxville.

Wrapped around the 210-acre Cove Lake, the Cove Lake State Park provides a lovely setting for families, groups or individuals looking to take a day trip or wanting a place to camp overnight. It offers 3.5 miles of paved hiking trail and fishing is allowed in the lake, where bass, bluegill and crappie are the main catches. Along the northern side of the lake are campsites, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a restaurant and two playgrounds for children. The park is located in Caryville, a few miles northwest of the Norris Dam State Park.
